It seems as though I have always been drawn to art.
As a young girl I sketched but did not develop an individual
style and passion for art until my high school years.
Starting out with pencil I created and sold several portraits
and scenes. Pen and ink was a favorite as well but I soon
moved on to the color and texture of oil painting. This
was a great medium but working with paints in homes soon
made way for acrylics which is used now for all my murals
and canvases. It can be made to appear as a watercolor
or gouache and the quick drying time is perfect for interior
applications.
Some of you may remember me from Clark Originals, a line
of patterns and original cloth dolls I marketed in the
80’s. McCall’s patterns ran the Clarence and
Penelope clown, and the Mary and Thomas Caroler patterns
for about four years. The Enesco Corporation also sold
some of my designs as mugs and dolls along with some Christmas
items. These were sold in the 80’s as well.
Originally this passion allowed me to stay at home and
work while raising my two children. It became a full time
profession 12 years ago and continues to bring daily challenges
to my life.
Working professionally as an artist has brought me into
contact with amazing families, contractors and designers
who have touched my life and allowed me to bring their
artistic dreams to life. I thank all of you and look forward
to new challenges and new visions.
